Most of the AI projects we evaluate fail the same test: nobody can articulate what changes, in dollars or hours, after launch. The deployments that work are scoped tightly enough to measure within 90 days. Three patterns come up repeatedly.
First, lead intake summarisation. An assistant on the website captures context from the visitor, structures it, and writes a one-paragraph brief that lands in the team's inbox. Saved time per lead is small. Saved time across a quarter is meaningful, and follow-up quality improves measurably.
Second, internal document Q&A. A small RAG layer over the team's policies, SOPs, and pricing logic eliminates the repeated Slack pings asking 'what's our position on X.' Build cost: a few weeks. Time saved: hard to overstate for any team above five people.
Third, email triage. A simple classifier sorts incoming mail into action, FYI, and noise, drafts replies for the action bucket, and leaves the founder a clean queue. None of this requires autonomous agents. It requires a quiet, scoped, measurable integration that runs every morning without anyone thinking about it.
